I’m Maanya Goenka, a junior at Carleton College, pursuing a major in Computer Science and a minor in Digital Arts and Humanities. I’m an international student from India, where I hail from a small city called Kolkata, on the east coast. I am really excited about this class and about Digital Humanities in general because this is an up and coming field and is especially valuable today, when technology seems to have taken over our whole lives and it has become so much easier to publish, edit and circulate digital documents. I want to further explore that bridge between Humanities and Computer Science, learn more about issues such as accessibility and copyright within the field and construct a digital portfolio for myself via the materials I pick up from this class.
